The folks at Pacific Health Labs recently sent me some samples of their products to try out as part of a Pacific Health Labs review. Pacific Health Labs produces a variety of endurance fuels including recovery drinks, energy gels and bars. I tried two types of products: a recovery drink and an energy gel.

Accelerade – Recovery Drink
The Accelerade Protein Powder Recovery Drink was my favorite product by far. I especially enjoyed the fruit punch recovery drink. The drinks were all packets of powder that could be mixed with water on the spot.
Packets ranged in calories with the lowest at 60-calories for 1 serving of the drink. What makes these drinks unique is they also pack protein. And as we all know protein is key to muscle recovery after a workout. I found the flavors to be refreshing and tasty.

Accel Gel – Energy Gel
I found the consistency of the Accel Gel to be too watery. Flavor-wise I had no issues except the fruity flavors were almost a bit too sweet for me. I was partial to the gels with caffeine and the Double Espresso flavor proved to be my favorite.
I’m still not sure what my body thinks of the gels, however. The gels also have protein in them (and milk products FYI in case you are lactose intolerant). I am used to taking in carbohydrates while running – but never protein. The jury is still out on this one.
Pacific Health Labs Feedback
Overall I was most impressed with the recovery drink made by PacificHealth Labs. If I were to purchase their product directly in the future, that’s the product I would purchase.
