Overwhelmed. That about sums up my week (month) so far.
I have a number of projects all coming to a head. My mind is spinning. I just want to sit and relax. But it’s on to one thing and then the next. The only time I’ve been able to calm down is when I’m on my yoga mat, having quiet time or while sleeping.
But in between the frenzy, a few non-running things have been helping me smile…
1) I was enamored this week when I noticed the new Valentine’s Day stickers on Cuties. Candy-shaped hearts? Cliche. Everyone is giving Cuties this year.
The Sweetest Valentine.
Cuties in Love.
I want to be YOUR cutie.
2) I know I am pretty late on this trend but… I have been cracking up over the “Hey Girl” phenomenon. You know… the photos of Ryan Gosling with typed sayings playing off of his character in “Crazy, Stupid, Love.” My favorite has been the Handmade Ryan Gosling Tumblr blog. Anyone who has ever done crafting or sewing will enjoy this one for sure. Oh and it’s also fun to write my own… therapeutic almost…
“Hey Girl… Let me take you to Goodwill.”
“Hey Girl… You have PMS? Here, let me bake brownies for you.”
“Hey Girl… Let’s watch a chick flick tonight. Your pick.”
3) I’m Pinningggggg! Not right this second, but I did join Pinterest. I avoided this site like the plague until one of my friends asked recently if I was on it. When I told her “No” she proceeded to explain the site and convince me to check it out. I did. I will confess I like Pinterest, mostly for a place to store my ideas or “favorites” if you will.
Prior to joining, my habit was to store photos or hyperlinks in my email box or on my desktop, leaving things kind of a mess. Now if I think a recipe looks good I’ll “pin” it for later. No more digging around my email box.
So far my interests have mostly been pinning craft ideas, home decor inspiration (including Cleveland inspiration!) and recipes (the healthier sort, not the “OMG deep fried bacon-type recipes”). If you want to follow my non-running interests you can find me on Pinterest here.
Today’s Fun: Write your own “Hey Girl” in the comments.
