Here’s the breakdown…
4 miles – 42:57 – “barefoot” in my VFF with “JA” at 3RRCO Run Group
I changed and rested for about 30-minutes. Then I fueled up with some Pacific Health Labs drink and Clif Shot BLOKS.
0.25 mile – Garmin was not working, this is a justified estimate.
3.75 miles – 48:52 (With the husband. Several bouts of walking. Wore my new Pearl Izumi shoes.)
Grand finale? My long run this week is complete!
Whew. It’s exhausting just to write this. And yes, my mascara was all over my face by the end of this run. This was not a walk in the park. Long run on a Wednesday? No, thanks. But I knew I had to get this in because of my 5K on Saturday. I did not want to have to run 5 miles after the 5K.
In the way of aches and pains I came out pretty decent on this long run. My right ankle was a bit sore afterwards and my left IT Band was tight, but the walk breaks helped it from becoming too tight. Fortunately there was no real pain on this run. I just felt exhausted. My leg muscles were tired: calves, quads, hamstrings… everything. This run justifies Thursday’s trip to Starbucks!
