Monday night I attended the annual Holiday Party/Cookie Swap held by the Ohio Blogging Association (OBA). This was my first time attending the cookie swap. I made my gramdmother’s “Butter Balls” cookie recipe. These cookies are very simple to make and contain only flour, butter, powdered sugar, nuts and vanilla extract.
I had a massive blonde moment the week before the meetup and screwed up what date it was on my calendar. So in fact I made TWO batches of these cookies. I wanted them to be fresh for the meetup so I suggested the husband take the first batch to work. Instead he ate them all. They must be good! Here’s a look at the whole spread at the event.
Some of my favorites were the buckeyes, shortbread and the peanut blossoms. All classics. Oddly nobody brought traditional sugar cookies. There was also a beer swap, although I did not take part. Jen of Why CLE was our gracious host and provided some tasty appetizers and beverages. Thanks again Jen! Bloggers/blogs in attendance were:
Poise in Parma
The Wolfmother Wallpaper
Go Run Jess
Clue into Cleveland
Inaccurate and Unreliable
Lane Baldwin Photography Blog
SMITTEN in Cleveland
From the cheap seats
The Girl I Mean To Be
Please do check out these other bloggers. I enjoy sharing these meetup recaps not only because the events are fun, but also because it provides an opportunity to showcase other local bloggers. The writing styles, favorite topics and personality of each blogger is completely unique. To find out more about OBA, you can visit the group on Facebook.
