It’s no secret my blog took the back burner in 2015. I started the year with high hopes to post frequently and that frequency quickly dwindled and I dealt with some pretty massive changes in my life and how I spent the last year.
Now my blog has sat stagnant again for several months. But this is one time when I’m going to cut myself some slack, when I think about how I spent the last year.
How I Spent the Last Year
My Year
Drumroll… I spent most of 2015 pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl in the fall. I spent last year working aggressively on my business, knowing I would be taking several months off for maternity leave. In the midst of that I had to drop something and it ended up being my blog.
I took the time off and the New Year arrived and once more I have found myself missing blogging. I think the days of blogging five to six times per week (circa 2011) are long gone for me but I don’t think blogging is completely out of the picture.

I’m setting a modest goal to blog once a week in 2016. The topics on my blog will not change. I have no desire to be a mommy blogger and intend to keep my daughter’s life personal and private from the public.
Since My Baby
Being a mom is challenging and I’m still adjusting on a daily basis. In the midst of that adjusting I already miss the “me time” I used to have. I am getting there slowly, so doing things like gardening and crafting and DIY projects are still important to me.
Exercising and eating healthy are also important. I want to be a good role model for my daughter and in order to do so I really do need to take care of myself, stay balanced and carve out a little “me time” even if that time is not as abundant as it once was.
This blog is part of my “me time.” I look forward to continuing to share and interact with you in 2016!
