Good morning! Last night we had an Ohio Blogging Association Meetup here in Cleveland, Ohio at our own Mitchell’s Ice Cream. With temperatures in the 80s and humid here, this was an event not to be missed. Edible Cleveland partnered for the event, along with The Agragrian Collective, which provided some tasty appetizers.
Mitchell’s Ice Cream co-owner Mike Mitchell spent some time talking to us about his business philosophy, sourcing methods for ingredients and the ice cream making process. (I love that they locally source ingredients and prefer organic ingredients over all others.) Afterward we enjoyed appetizers, drinks and some ice cream samples, of course!
As part of the “sweetup” as it was coined, we also were able to view the ice cream production facility and learned how to properly scoop this summertime favorite. There was also a drawing and I happened to win a $10 gift certificate to Mitchell’s Ice Cream. Nice! I hope to update this post later today with list of all participating bloggers.
Thanks as always to Alicia for helping organize this wonderful event, and to the event sponsors. I also really enjoyed chatting with other bloggers, I find the meetups help hold us accountable with blogging. It was truly sweet!
I enjoy sharing these meetup recaps not only because the events are fun, but also because it provides an opportunity to showcase other local bloggers. The writing styles, favorite topics and personality of each blogger is completely unique. To find out more about OBA, you can visit the group on Facebook.
Disclosure: I am not compensated for event posts, unless otherwise stated. All opinions and thoughts here are my own. As part of my attendance at this event I received free appetizers, drinks, ice cream and the drawing prize as mentioned above.
