For the first year, or so, that we had Lulu she was polite. We taught her right away not to bark incessantly at every passerby, and barking at other dogs is kept – to the best of our ability – to a minimum. She will whine when she has anxiety and has been known to make a “harumph” type deep breath noise when she is upset or has to go outside.
That was until the husband started toying with her late this winter. I took these videos several months ago (before her spring shave down!) and am just now getting around to posting them. He makes a Mr. Bill “Oh No!” type noise, rubs her belly and Lulu goes crazy. I see it as their way of playing together. As I’ve said before Lulu does not take to toys. It’s like she thinks she’s too good for them. So I was pleasantly surprised to see her become a little vocal over something… anything! This is the closest to a “dog howl” we have heard from her.
